Family
Planning offers a
variety of modern methods of birth control as well as pregnancy testing and
appropriate referrals.
Before you receive birth
control through the health department, you will receive a clinical exam by a
Nurse Clinician Practitioner or a Doctor. This exam includes a pap test to
screen for cervical cancer and breast exam. The health department also provides
abstinence counseling.
Cost
Methods
of Birth Control
The health department offers several types of birth control, some
require a prescription:

Condoms

Birth control pills
-
IUD
-
Diaphragm
-
Patch and Nuva Ring
only through
prescription that you take to a pharmacy.
We do not give out these two methods at our location. The
health department nurse or doctor will decide if this is the best method for
you.

BTL
(Tubal Ligation):
We
can refer you to a physician who performs this procedure.
