Healthy Start

Healthy Start provides services that help participants have a healthy baby and then to be the best parent they can. The program was established to help reduce infant deaths and the number of low-birth weight babies.

Cost, How to Enroll
  1. All services are provided at no cost.
  2. You qualify for this program by filling out a simple questionnaire at your doctor’s office.
Services

Some of the services available to participants are:

  • Home visits by health professionals
  • Childbirth classes
  • Nutrition education
  • Breastfeeding support and education
  • Parenting support and education
  • Counseling services
  • Family planning
  • Transportation assistance
  • Access to and Coordination of other community services
  • Smoking cessation support and education
  • Specialized services for substance exposed infants
