Volunteers Needed for Clinic Exercise
Residents can volunteer less than 15 minutes of their time on Friday to help
Escambia prepare for large disease outbreaks that could be similar to the mumps
outbreak that hit the Midwest last April.
-
Volunteers are needed on Friday March 23 between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to
test the operation of a mass vaccination clinic.
-
Volunteers will not be vaccinated – this is a drill and actual medications
are not administered.
-
It takes approximately 10 minutes for a volunteer to walk through the
clinic; individuals can come at any time between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
-
Large groups of 30 or more individuals should schedule an arrival time by
calling 595-6663 extension 101.
This
drill is organized by the Health Department to prepare for public health crisis
such as large disease outbreaks.
To Volunteer as an Individual or Small Group:
-
Report to the UWF Field House (Bldg 54) between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. –
it will take one volunteer approximately 10 minutes to walk through the
clinic.
-
Individuals and small groups do not need to make an appointment.
-
Parking: Park in either the parking lot adjacent to Building 54 (Lot A) or
directly across the street to the south of the building (Lot B).
To
Volunteer as a Large Group (such as an adult living facility or classroom)
Contact the health department at 595-6663 extension 101, and the health
department will assign a time for your group to participate in the exercise.
For
Student’s Community Service Hours
