September 28, 2008 is World Rabies Day. Many wild animals such as raccoons, foxes, bats, and skunks can carry a serious virus called rabies. It is important this time of year to take precautions to prevent rabies to protect yourself, your family and your pets.

What can you do?

  • Make sure your pets get and stay vaccinated
  • Don’t allow your pets to run free
  • Make sure your garbage is securely covered
  • Don’t feed pets outside
  • Enjoy wild animals from a distance
  • Teach children never to handle unfamiliar animals
  • Show children how to stand still like a tree, “BE a TREE”, if they are approached by wild or stray animals

Vaccinate Your Pets against Rabies
Only you can keep your pet safe from rabies
